Why is quarantine rated r
Disturbingly reminiscent of the far superior "Cloverfield," "Quarantine" features enough shaky camerawork to make you forget the nauseous cinematographic gymnastics in Paul Greengrass's "United Filmed largely in real-time, "Quarantine" has very much a reality television feeling going for it, and while the technique grows tiresome Dowdle does have a knack for creating a sense of atmosphere and heightened anxiety that enhances the viewing experience quite a bit.
It doesn't always work, however, and multiple scenes are just as likely to reduce audiences to giggles as they are to scares. Kid reviews for Quarantine. I hate horror films, always have, and so I was extremely reluctant to make myself watch Quarantine, especially as everyone was saying just how terrifying it was. I don't know if it's just me, but I really don't get why people think this film is so scary.
Ok, the shaky, you're-there-with-the-characters perspective is a little jumpy in places but I didn't scream once. I may have done if the ending wasn't disclosed in the trailer, or if the jumpy scene in the attic wasn't in the clips from the film from the menu bit. Kind of ruined it? There was one woman Mrs Esponosa I think her name was, she was the first 'zombie' who creeped me out though. Didn't like her, no clue why? Despite not being terrifying, Quarantine did succeed in keeping me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
And Jennifer Carpenter's acting!! Ok, this woman can do no wrong in my eyes, but I completely disagree with those saying she over-acted the role. I'm sorry, but if I was in her situation I would be acting so much worse. Overall, Quarantine was really good, and wasn't too scary. I'd say due to violence which is quite excessive all the way through , it would be appropriate for years and up. This review Helped me decide. Had useful details.

A Lot of Blood and Gore I love films which surround these ideas of outbreaks, this one being a form of mutated rabies, but nothing could prepare me for the amount of bloody and gory images in this film and yet they still made this film fun and exciting to watch.
The story surrounds a small news team who are shadowing a team of firefighters in Los Angeles, which goes horrifically wrong when they respond to reports of an old woman screaming in her apartment and she attacks one of the firefighters. Everyone inside the building is put into quarantine and from then on it's really a ticking time bomb. Gory images include when the firefighter falls from a higher floor and breaks a lot of bones in his body, when a dog attacks a man in the elevator you don't see much of the attack because the doors close, but they go into that elevator later on and it is COVERED in blood and when another man becomes infected and breaks his leg, so while he's walking his leg is bent the wrong way and you can see the bone.
BE WARNED, there is also a scene where an infected old woman attacks the cameraman and he has to kill her with the camera the entire film is shot from the camera's perspective. Although this may not be considered gory, I found the bit where the cameraman crushes the rat especially disgusting. I found the jump scares kind of weak for a majority of the film, because they are very cliche and predictable. There was a power cut, they are using night cam which is never a good sign players of Outlast will understand me , there is a horrendous although cliche jump scare and for the last five minutes or so you are forced to witness them trying desperately to escape the attic while an infected man wanders around the room and at points practically runs into the last survivors.
However, I was slightly disappointed with the ending. It felt very Paranormal Activity you know, the first one where Katie gets pulled out the bedroom by her feet? Yeah, that happens in this film too Overall, this film is actually really good and an entertaining watch and it's not too long. Teen, 17 years old Written by davyborn April 7, Heart stopping horror film is definitely not for the weak of stomach Quarantine is an aolmostly shcokingly effective, scary and intense horror film that the faint of heart and weak of stomach should definitely skip.
But, that's not to say that it won't appeal to teenage horror movie fans as much as adult fans, because it will. Now, what makes Quarantine so heart-stoppingly intense and brutal to watch is the fact that it all feels so real.
It is one of those found-footage films, and definitely one of the better ones out there in the genre especially when you consider that this film came out about a year before the Paranormal Activity film did , and a lot of the claustrophobia just adds to the overall effect of them, and even more surprising is that the cast, headlined by Jennifer Carpenter, actually all do a equally very good job at conveying an absolutely palpable sense of fear and terror, and that it pretty much literally holds you right there in your seat until the films final reel.
