Dragon age origins why is it an 18

Get this wrong and you can find yourself with a new enemy. Each person's opinion of you is affected by your dialogue choices and actions, meaning no two play-throughs are the same. Depending on your choices, some characters may be allies or obstacles. In the first game, you are recruited into the Grey Wardens, an order that is standing against monsters called Darkspawn. You are tasked with defeating the archdemon controlling the hordes and ending the siege.

In the second game you play Hawke, a refugee living in Kirkwall who rises to become Kirkwall's ruler, making allies and enemies along the way. The third game puts you in control of the Inquisitor, who survived a cataclysmic event that tore the sky open, unleashing demons upon Thedas. You must rise to the head of the Inquisition and defeat an ancient darkspawn intent on becoming a God Emperor. While the plot of each of these games differ, gameplay is consistent throughout the series.

You take on the classic tale of a heroes journey; rising from nothing to defeat the darkness in the time of greatest need, as well as core themes of good vs evil, duty and responsibility. Boards Dragon Age: Origins Is this game mature or for teenagers? User Info: dekou. User Info: miltos User Info: thefinn. Well, that's reassuring. And, as you note, the rating criteria differ between the systems. Although I think you overstate that case. A modified version with the most gory executions blurred out later received an M rating.

The game also delves into politics and is very lore-heavy. This game should definitely not be played by students during exam time; it'll steal a lot of time from your studies. The only real concern for parents would be the games violence. The combat is frequent, the player and their companions will become coated in blood as will the environment.

Foes are decapitated and blood is plentiful. The mechanics for the combat require a level of tactical thinking and familiarity with strategy games to master, especially on the higher difficulties. Sex and language is minimal. There are semi-frequent sexual references but mostly in the form of innuendo designed to be humorous and not taken seriously. The only other concern for some parents might be the heavy focus on spirits and demons. A lot of the enemies in the game are demons of varying varieties and the main antagonist is "The Archdemon".

All in all, Dragon Age; Origins is a fantastic game with an impressive amount of content. The combat gets slow at times but the depth of the characters and the story development more than makes up for any of its flaws. Adult Written by Thorulfr January 20, Excellent RPG Dragon Age Origins not only has a great storyline that hooks you in, but also amazing character development. There are multiple outcomes to different choices.

Usually I don't care to add in that point if an RPG rather fails to have consequences of words and actions. Here, it's no exaggeration. There are several beginnings, even influences, based on your character's race, class, and even gender. I don't see the issue with someone around their early teens playing this game. Yes, there's violence and gore, but it's not too over the top. There's hardly any language, if you even take the mild phrases into consideration. There's no nudity.

When it comes to the sex scenes, it just fades to black and doesn't show anything. I think the only aspect of Dragon Age that a child or early teenager might have issues with are the in-game politics. There's a lot of difficult decisions based around political struggles with different places and the people impacted by them. It could possibly be overwhelming if someone isn't that familiar with politics. Overall, it's an awesome game.

Helped me decide. Had useful details. Read my mind. Adult Written by RealReview July 7, Dark, Corrupt and Evil An excellent game from start to finish. A must own for all gamers. Dragon Age Origins has a timeless story that will hook you into playing more and more. One of the best RPG ever made, this classic game has multiple intros and endings that will surely have you investing some time if you are a completionist.

And the sounds and music of this game is pretty well done. The only setback this game has to offer is that the animation can be pretty bloody and the graphics has a few lags and framerate drops in the middle of the action, though it is still not too bad. Also, the language in this game is close to mature level even if theyre not using profanities.

And the combat violence and a few romantic love scenes can offend some over protective adults with children. But all in all, the way this game is put together makes up for all the negative reviews here in CSM.

The game is pretty awesome as a dark medieval game that i highly recommend to older teens and mature grown ups. This title contains: Ease of Play. Absurd wildly unreasonable, illogical, or inappropriate for anyone under 18 years old. The characters say things like I was raped and got pregnant so I killed myself and children think that is ok because she was raped by another species there for should kill herself so she doesn't give birth to a half breed???

Disgusting- why are children playing these terrible games and thinking that things of that nature are ok Not ok!!!

This title contains: Sexy stuff. April 12, TheLateGamer Here! Adult Written by CocktailSquid October 19, Here's our parents' guide to Dragon Age Inquisition , from what makes the game so popular to what to watch out for.
