Can you skip scenes in red dead redemption

I usually vote to skip but if there's someone holding out then I assume it's their first time. Can't get annoyed at that. I disagree. If they are impatient and want to skip the scene they can either play solo or with a group who wants to do the same. You can skip a cutscene on the PC version of the game by pressing "Backspace". I dont think its Backspace. You have to hold the Enter button. This sounds like a comment to another answer. Are you sure it's Enter? Maybe the release in changed the button to skip? For the PS3 version, hold the start button and then press the X button.
