Can i take vitex and clomid together
One stimulates the other stops. Hope this helps. If I find the website that gives this specific information, I will post a link for it. I have read so many websites that say that Vitex does not increase chances of twins. I have read severaly times also that a high intake of folic acid about mg and wild yams in pill form or in tinicture strangely increases chances of multiples, although they are'nt sure why.
I have heard that vitex and clomid couteract each other I am just starting ttc again, This is first month off of bcp. I miscarried twins in naturally. I want to try for twins again, so i have the clomid unprescribed but am waiting on the next af. I am on day 12 now--so a couple of weeks to go before I try it. Why are you taking clomid days instead of or ? I was taking vitex before when I got pregnant with my daughter. I was taking vitex for about a week before i read that you can't take it with clomid, which i was planning to start when i got AF.
I stopped with the vitex the day I got AF and started with the clomid. I took the clomid and also extra folic acid and a wild yam tincture. I'm still 1 week away from my next AF, so I will let you know the results when I get it and if there's more than 1, which I was hoping for obviously! In response to Lisa's question about baby aspirin. Baby Aspirin increases blood flow to the uterus increasing the chances of a hospitable environment for the egg to implant.
Also a question for Mandy I think natural is the way to go. Does anyone know if the ebook at Pregnancytechniques. I had rough side effects from the Clomid, so I took a break from it and have been doing vitex, acupuncture, and yoga for the past few cycles. I am going to stop it though and switch to mg Clomid next cycle in hopes of moving ovulation up.
Fingers crossed it works for you! Thank you for sharing all your information about Vitex. I was diagnosed with PCOS several years ago and told I would never get pregnant without intervention. My husband and I tried unsuccessfully to conceive for 4 years no birth control before trying vitex. I took a vitex pill twice a day for 45 days and got pregnant with my son. I also added vitamins D3 and B12 to my prenatal vitamin, along with chromium. I drank 2 cups a day of red raspberry leaf tea mixed with spearmint tea.
I also removed as many products with parabens and fragrance from my beauty routine that I could, and stopped using plastics made with BPAs. I honestly thought I would never get to be a Mama, and now I have the sweetest 4 month old Yay Vitex! I have PCOS and do not ovulate. Tried clomid 9 years ago with ex husband along with ivf. No success. The stress led to divorce. Was on depo to stop my periods because they were so heavy and painful.
As I said, no period yet, only spotting since ending depo. Thanks for sharing your wonderful posts. The first endocrine event, in response to a course of clomifene therapy, is an increase in the release of pituitary gonadotropins. This initiates steroidogenesis and folliculogenesis resulting in growth of the ovarian follicle and an increase in the circulating level of estradiol. Following ovulation, plasma progesterone and estradiol rise and fall as they would in a normal ovulatory cycle.
Clomid has both estrogenic and anti-estrogenic properties, but its precise mechanism of action has not been determined. Clomifene appears to stimulate the release of gonadotropins, follicle-stimulating hormone FSH , and leuteinizing hormone LH , which leads to the development and maturation of ovarian follicle, ovulation, and subsequent development and function of the corpus luteum, thus resulting in pregnancy.
Gonadotropin release may result from direct stimulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary axis or from a decreased inhibitory influence of estrogens on the hypothalamic-pituitary axis by competing with the endogenous estrogens of the uterus, pituitary, or hypothalamus. Clomifene has no apparent progestational, androgenic, or anti-androgenic effects and does not appear to interfere with pituitary-adrenal or pituitary-thyroid function.
Custom Search Fertility forums are full of advice not to take Clomid and vitex together because they cancel each other out, however, information which explains why this might be the Maca lepidium peruvianum, commonly referred to as Maca or Maca root, is an adaptogenic tuberous vegetable grown in the Andes region of Peru. It contains a variety of alkaloids which act on various endocrine organs within the body, including the pituitary, hypothalamus, pancreas, ovaries, pineal, adrenals and thyroid, to regulate hormones.
There are also 13 different types of Maca within that species, resulting in different size, shape and colour of the vegetable, as well as differences in the alkaloid constituents. For this reason, the supplements available are likely to differ from each other significantly in terms of chemical constituents and efficacy. Studies into Maca and female hormone regulation have largely been limited to women with peri-menopausal symptoms, not PCOS.
Traditionally, Maca is not eaten raw, it is cooked, like potato, as it is very difficult to digest in the raw state. Cooking however, destroys some of the chemical compounds within it, which may reduce its efficacy. I have only done some limited research into the issue, but it appears that a product called Femmenessence may be a more reliable Maca supplement. In summary, however, the situation is much the same as with vitex, any effect on reproductive hormones will be overpowered by the Clomid, negating any value the Maca might have, if you in fact manage to get a Maca product that has an appropriate range of active ingredients, is appropriately standardised and appropriate for PCOS.
There may be some benefit to non-reproductive hormones in terms of increased energy, but given the array of challenges in finding an appropriate Maca product, I would be strongly disinclined to try it whilst using Clomid. This study seems the most relevant, but was funded by a Maca supplement manufacturer, so is likely to be biased.
